Here’s how to make Chaga tea in a pot or kettle:
Take a pot or kettle with a wide bottom Place 3 (this varies depending on the size of the chunks) Chaga chunks at the bottom of the pot/kettle.
Add 2 quarts of water and heat it up on medium high. When your Chaga tea starts to boil, turn the heat to low. After 30 – 45 minutes of simmering, turn off the heat and let it sit for 15 minutes. The water should be dark brown.
For more potency let it simmer for a total of 1-2 hours with a loose lid. Add honey, maple syrup (or sugar), or cream (OPTIONAL) Enjoy!
Keep Your Pot Going!
Store remaining Chaga in the fridge. It’s also good as a cold brew. As we use a cup or two we top the pot up again with water and leave it on low heat on the stove for at least a half hour. As the tea becomes lighter in color we simply add another chunk of chaga. You can keep your pot going by doing that. As long as the lumps of Chaga remain immersed in brewed Chaga it will not spoil. When the chaga starts to turn into “sludge” it’s time to start a new pot.
